UCVPN Account Deletion Agreement
Last updated: 2025-11-221. About This Agreement Welcome to UCVPN (hereinafter referred to as "the Service"). To safeguard users' control over their personal accounts and related data, users may apply to delete accounts they have registered or that have been automatically created within UCVPN in accordance with this Agreement. This Agreement forms part of the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy and has the same legal effect as those documents. Where this Agreement is inconsistent with the provisions of the Privacy Policy regarding account deletion, data retention, or user rights, the provision that is more favorable to the user and compliant with applicable laws and regulations shall prevail. 2. Scope of Application This Agreement applies to accounts that users create, bind, use, or that are automatically generated within UCVPN, including but not limited to: 1. Registered accounts created via phone number, email, Apple sign-in, Google sign-in, and similar methods; 2. Guest accounts, device accounts, anonymous accounts, or temporary accounts automatically created after the client is first launched; 3. Membership benefits, order records, basic profile information, device-binding information, and service logs associated with the aforementioned accounts. 3. Methods of Account Deletion 1. Applying within the App Users may initiate an account deletion request within the App via the following paths: "Me / Account & Security / Delete Account" or: "Settings / Account Management / Delete Account" To protect account security, the platform may require users to complete reasonable and necessary identity verification during the deletion process, such as login verification, SMS/email verification code checks, Apple sign-in account confirmation, device-binding verification, or secondary confirmation. 2. Website Assistance If a specific device malfunction, version compatibility issue, or temporary technical reason prevents a user from completing the operation within the App, the platform may provide a website page to explain the deletion process. In principle, however, users should be able to initiate an account deletion request directly within the App. 4. Risks and Impacts to Note Before Deletion Before submitting an account deletion request, users should fully understand and confirm the following: 1. After the account is deleted, the login eligibility, membership status, device-binding relationships, on-site benefits, historical preference settings, and similar items associated with the account may be deleted or anonymized, and are generally not recoverable. 2. If the account contains unused membership services, value-added services, benefit packages, promotional benefits, or other account-related service content, these may no longer be usable after deletion. 3. If the account is currently bound to an Apple App Store auto-renewing subscription, deleting the account does not automatically cancel the Apple subscription charges. Users should cancel the subscription themselves through their Apple device system or the App Store subscription management page to avoid subsequent auto-renewal. 4. Where laws and regulations, regulatory requirements, tax requirements, dispute handling, network security obligations, or transaction record-keeping requirements mandate that certain data be retained, the platform will continue to store the relevant information within the legally prescribed scope and period, and will delete or anonymize it thereafter. 5. Prerequisites for Applying for Deletion Subject to laws and regulations and the platform's normal business rules, users may generally apply for account deletion. To avoid affecting transaction security, service performance, or dispute resolution, the platform may require the following matters to be resolved before final deletion is carried out: 1. Account identity verification has been completed; 2. The account has no outstanding complaints, appeals, violation handling, or judicial or administrative investigation matters; 3. The account is not subject to further review due to fraud, abuse, black/grey market risks, network attacks, money-laundering risk identification, or similar reasons; 4. Obligations to be performed, refund disputes, after-sales disputes, or statutory retention obligations associated with the account have been resolved; 5. The platform considers that deletion is permitted by laws and regulations and will not harm the legitimate rights and interests of third parties. Where deletion must be suspended in accordance with the law, the platform will explain the reasons to the user and process the request as soon as possible once the relevant reasons are eliminated. 6. Account Deletion Process 1. The user accesses the deletion entry within the App and reads the deletion notice; 2. The platform performs necessary identity verification and risk confirmation; 3. The user confirms the deletion request again; 4. The platform accepts the deletion request and completes processing within a reasonable period; 5. Once processing is complete, the platform may notify the user of the result via in-app notification, on-site message, email, or other bound contact method. 7. Data Handling Rules After Account Deletion After account deletion is complete, the platform will delete, de-identify, anonymize, or retain user data as legally required, based on the business scenario, technical feasibility, and legal requirements: 1. Data typically deleted or anonymized: account profile, login identifiers, device-binding relationships, service preferences, non-essential history records, and personal data directly associated with the account; 2. Data retained by law: information that must be retained under applicable laws and regulations, regulatory requirements, financial audits, tax compliance, information security, dispute resolution, anti-fraud, network log retention, and similar obligations; 3. Technical backup data: due to system backup, disaster recovery switchover, or log archiving mechanisms, some data may not be immediately and completely erased from backup media. However, the platform will delete it once the backup rotation cycle ends or when technically feasible, and will not use it for routine business processing during the retention period, except as otherwise provided by laws and regulations. 8. Notes on Apple Subscriptions, Refunds, and Billing If a user purchases an auto-renewing subscription, membership service, or other digital service through the Apple App Store, please note in particular: 1. Deleting the account does not automatically cancel the user's Apple auto-renewing subscription; 2. Users should go to the system subscription management page on their iPhone or iPad, or use the App Store subscription management function, to cancel it themselves; 3. Fees already paid, refund rules, subscription charges, and refund requests are generally governed by the payment and refund rules of the Apple App Store; 4. If the platform supports setting "delete the account after the current subscription period ends," the platform may offer this option. If the user wishes to delete the account immediately, they may still proceed according to the platform's process but should monitor the subscription cancellation status themselves. 9. Special Notes 1. Automatically Created Accounts If UCVPN automatically generates a guest account, device account, or anonymous account when the client first runs, users still have the right to delete that account and its associated data, and the platform will provide a corresponding deletion entry. 2. Customer Service Assistance For general internet services, the platform in principle does not require users to complete deletion through additional processes such as phone calls, human customer service, or email tickets. However, where there is an identity security risk, a legal requirement, or a reasonable risk-control need, the platform may require supplementary necessary information to prevent accidental deletion, account theft deletion, or fraudulent applications by others. 3. User-Generated Content If a user has comments, feedback, uploaded content, log records, or other user-generated content within the Service, the platform will, where permitted by applicable law and technically feasible, delete, anonymize, or disassociate it together with account deletion; where laws and regulations provide otherwise, those provisions shall apply. 10. Protection of Minors Where applicable laws and regulations require special protective measures for the personal information of minors, the platform will implement the corresponding rules in accordance with the law during account deletion and data processing. If a guardian believes that a minor has used the Service to create an account without authorization, they may contact the platform through the contact information below. 11. Revised versions will be published via the official website, a public notice page, or an appropriate method within the App. Where the revised content legally requires the user's consent, the platform will separately fulfill its notification or consent obligations as required.
